Spinach, carrots, broccoli and kale all contain oxalates. It should be noted that of these four, kale has the lowest quantity of oxalic acid by far at 20mg per 100g, and spinach has the highest at roughly 736 mg per 100g (Brogren, 2003). This is why won't my bearded dragon eat fruit some keepers will often feed kale to their dragons.) This study also found that 76.7% of the calcium found in spinach was certain by oxalates (in humans)! How much oxalic acid is a dangerous quantity? Sadly, I could not find a study that discussed this particular subject in bearded dragons.
