Drug Safety Recruiters

The Drug Safety recruiters of MEIRxRS have placed numerous drug safety professions at large companies as well as at small biotech firms. We can place people as a permanent placement or a staffing solution. Whether you need a head of drug safety, team of drug safety associates or just a contractor we can help.

Drug Safety Position Overview

Head of Drug Safety is responsible for the safety profile, including surveillance programs, protocol development and risk management planning. They work to establish the strategy, direction and pharmacovigilance activities. In clinical-stage companies they also contribute to regulatory submissions for drug approval.

The Drug Safety Associates are responsible for the review, evaluation and management of adverse event reports from assigned clinical trials in accordance with FDA, EMEA, China FDA, other applicable health authorities and ICH guidelines and regulations.

Tasks and Expectations

Drug Safety professionals are required to have a high-level of attention to detail as this is a highly-regulated environment. They review and evaluate adverse events related to use of pharmaceutical drugs. They also answer questions from health workers. They insure relevant authorities, review boards, investigators, and drug producers are kept informed on adverse events and other safety matters. Tasks include verifying the accuracy of all data, scanning, storing and inputting data. Argus and ARISg are two of the more popular databases used in Drug Safety.

How to Become a Drug Safety professional

If you are interested in becoming a drug safety professional you need a MD, DO, Nursing or Pharmacy degree. If you have such a degree, consider our Drug Safety Associate Apprenticeship program. The program offers pay and benefits and typically takes two years to complete while the apprentice works toward an industry certification.
